Trick5 – Benchmark test shows 18:9 aspect ratio for Moto G6, G6 Plus and G6 Play – Trick5

Three upcoming Motorola handsets have been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance. According to specs listed by the Alliance, all three of these handsets will have Android Oreo pre-installed. One of the models listed, XT1922-1, appears to be the Moto G6 Play. The latter will be powered by the Snapdragon 430 chipset, which is equipped with an octa-core CPU and the Adreno 505 GPU. The other two Moto handsets, model numbers XT1944-1 and XT1924-1, are both powered by the Snapdragon 425 SoC. The latter features a quad-core CPU and the Adreno 308 GPU. These could be the Moto E5 and Moto E5 Plus. Last weekend, we showed you a render of the Moto E5 Play, which is heading to Verizon.

More information about the upcoming 2018 Moto line surfaced on Tuesday. The HTML5 Test benchmark site revealed that the Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 Play will all have a display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The site is used to measure how well a browser supports HTML5. While the results of the benchmark test run on all three phones was erroneously listed as 360 x 720 pixels, the ratio does show an 18:9 aspect ratio. This means that the displays on the Moto G6 line will have a resolution of 1080 x 2160, or FHD+. You can see the test results by looking at the image at the top of this story.

Based on the aforementioned Moto E5 Play render that leaked the other day, we could see Motorola hold an event on April 3rd to unveil some of the new 2018 Moto lineup.
