Trick5 – Get to know Arrested Development's resident prop master – Trick5

Something that’s easy to forget when watching TV is that everything in a shot is there for a reason. Like, the fork at a table—someone had to find that fork, to lay it on the table. Afterward, that fork goes in a box, one that sits in a trailer next to other boxes marked “drugs” and “coasters.” As prop master Todd Daniels puts it in the latest episode of Mashable’s Supporting Players, one must know a little bit about everything to be good at their job. Breaking Bad’s prop master, for example, must know what meth looks like; otherwise, you run the risk of Jesse shouting about “ice” while holding a bag of ice cubes.

Daniels has worked on shows like Key And Peele, Workaholics, and Lady Dynamite, but it’s his work on Arrested Development that takes precedent here. In his trailer, we see the infamous Cornballer, some Bluth Company hard hats, and other trinkets from the series. We’ll assume the stair car is parked outside with Franklin at the wheel. “It’s a scavenger hunt every day,” Daniels says of the gig, which involves cozying up to a multitude of vendors in anticipation of those weird, weird requests. Well, one thing’s for sure: Dude knows where to get good hooks.
